Confidentiality Officer at the Police

Are you ready for a bigger task? Working for the Police means creating security in people's lives. Every day. We are now looking for more confidentiality officers for an exciting and challenging role, who will together form a group with broad competence and experience.

Workplace Description

The Service Department is one of the Police Authority's national departments and consists of three units with a total of just over 720 employees. The department is part of the crime-fighting mission and works with citizen services in the form of, among other things, e-services and reception activities, develops travel documents and service cards, provides public documents as well as register extracts. The authority's administrative matters and national telephone exchange are also included, as well as the responsibility for the authority's information management. The position of confidentiality officer is located at the section for disclosure cases. The section consists of six groups that together are responsible for registering and managing a significant portion of the requests for public documents that come to the Police Authority. The section's groups are geographically located across large parts of the country, from Östersund in the north to Malmö in the south.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The work as a confidentiality officer is mainly administrative and primarily involves receiving and handling requests for the disclosure of public documents. This is done by reading and assessing documents stored at the Police Authority and determining whether the requested document can be disclosed. You generally work independently and apply a relatively complex regulatory framework with associated urgency requirements. Your tasks also include contacting applicants via email and phone and, in rare cases, during physical meetings. The role involves contacts both within the authority and externally. Cooperation and collaboration are therefore an important part of the work.

The work places high demands on the quality of the assessments carried out. At the same time, equivalent assessments between different requests are central, and to achieve this, you work together with your colleagues across the country on a continuous improvement and development process. Other tasks related to the section's mission may also be included in your duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • Post-secondary education, preferably with a focus on law, legal studies, or similar, or work experience in laws and regulations governing public operations
  • Very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
  • Good computer skills and the ability to familiarize yourself with new IT systems
  • Swedish citizenship

We consider it an advantage if you also have:

  • Post-secondary education with a focus on law, legal studies, or similar that the police authority deems relevant
  • Recent experience in handling cases at an authority or other public administration
  • Recent experience working with confidentiality assessments and processing cases according to the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act
  • Experience in formulating decisions based on relevant laws and regulations

Personal Qualities

To succeed in the role of confidentiality officer, we see that you are analytical, responsible, and meticulous. You care about providing good service and have the ability to find a level in your assessments that achieves the right quality while being efficient and handling cases promptly. As a person, you are solution-focused and can work both independently and in a team.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability and your personal qualities.
